Not the baby goat kind, but the human kind.
Hey Y’all!
Our children have grown up and moved on. Several years ago, we stopped milking our herd, as we wanted to get them on a better birthing schedule, and we had fewer hands doing the work.
In our efforts to produce fresh, natural, healthy food, we got some cows from a local dairy going out of business. Waiting for them to arrive, we were like adoptive parents getting our milk parlor ready for their arrival.
The new cows were a little apprehensive about their new home, but soon settled in well.
I have enjoyed getting to know all of our animals as I care for them every day.
The cows, pigs and even the sheep know me as “the food lady,” the one who feeds them!
Sometimes I feel like their mom, and they are my sweet, funny and sometimes naughty children!
I learn lessons as I watch and interact with them.
